Hannaford Seed Cleaner

The Hannaford Wet Wheat Pickler invented by Alf Hannaford (both pictured below) in 1914 following a severe drought and at a time when food security was high on the agenda because of WW1.
I'm currently staying Riverton with Stephen Balls and his wife Nikki (nee Hannaford) who is Alf Hannafords Great Great niece.

The wheat pickler and subsequent seed cleaners revolutionised the preparation of seed, thus improving quality of cereal crops ad infinitum. Not a bad claim to fame!
Steve and Nikki still live on the same farm and the forge and stone barn where the first prototype were made are still there.

Have a look at the link below if you're interested in further biographical info on Alf Hannaford.
