The Koru

Given the scale and type of farming in this country, I can see that New Zealand has the potential to offer some great insights that are likely to be highly applicable to our situation in the UK.

I plan to travel across both islands within 8 days in order to meet with the key players. This is going to include Christchurch, where they are still grieving following the recent earthquake.

The Maori symbol, the Koru, represents the Beginning of Life. The Maori have taken their symbolism from the unfurled new leaf of the silver fern. It depicts new beginnings, growth and harmony.

I took this picture in a fit of artistic flair. It's a frond of a beautiful tree fern growing wild just South of Auckland. They are ubiquitous across New Zealand.
