The Croome and West Warwickshire Hunt Point to Point, held at Upton on Severn on Easter Tuesday every year represents the culmination of many hours of work building the course.
It's a job that I've done for the past 15 years, fitting it with the "day-job" as a rewarding contribution to the fabric of rural Britain.
The venue is Ryall's Court home of Oliver Surman (2009 Nuffield Scholar). A cracking dairy farm (organic/zero grazing/followers and beef unit on farm/adjacent to River Severn), this venue attracts over 500 members of the British public and is actually a showcase for British farming as well as a fund-raiser for the hunt.
This year the sun shone all day, the going was "Good" despite weeks of dry weather and everyone had a successful day - just wish John Round had been there to enjoy it with us.

Moments after this photo was taken the fourth horse raced with 2 feet of my pick-up having thrown it's rider (a chap called James Peck if I'm not mistaken!!)
